One of the most stressful pieces of the experience, for me, was wading through the bureaucracy of multiple health systems in order to request and collect various medical records on a deadline. In order to get to the day depicted below, multiple forms and emails and phone calls took place. I was informed after requesting and waiting that certain records needed to be requested an entirely different way, which isn’t indicated in any public forum, and that not all medical records are free. The process is not often intuitive or patient-friendly. If cancer doesn’t break you, obtaining ownership of your own imaging might.
If you are going through that now and need to vent, reach out.
